STEVENS POINT—Lyndon Hood, 60, has plead not guilty in connection to the murder of Jeanette Pientka.
Hood reportedly killed Jeanette Pientka on July 21 at her Town of Carson residence. The murder followed an eviction process in which the victim was working to evict Sara Pientka, Jeanette’s sister, and Lyndon Hood from a family home. After attending court for the eviction, Hood went to the victim’s home and stabbed her 11 times, severing her femoral artery. Sara Pientka was allegedly present for the murder, but made no attempts to seek medical help for her sister or call 911.
Pientka was ultimately sentenced to 120 days in jail for failing to report her sister’s murder.
On Oct. 7, Hood appeared in custody and pled not guilty to the charge of first degree intentional homicide with use of a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct with the use of a dangerous weapon.
A 12 person jury trial is set for Dec. 7 to Dec. 11 for Hood’s first degree murder charge. According to court records, a total of 75 potential jurors will be called with two jurors who will serve as alternates.
Hood remains in custody on a $1 million bond and is expected back in Portage County court on Nov. 20.
